Introduction to Daoist Meditation

In this weekly Daoist Meditation class, we mainly practice sitting meditation, and routinely cover postural alignments, and engagement with internal energy centers, channels, and acu-points through guided sitting mediation postures to facilitate deep relaxation, concentration, and meditative states.

As the foundation and peak of all Daoist practices, meditation provides the stillness required to begin initially looking within- letting the dust and mud of our minds and thoughts settle to find clarity, and potentially inner revelation. Through stillness we develop sensitivity, and with that- expanded awareness, perception, and clarity into the nature of ourselves and reality.

There are many types of Daoist meditation practices, and we’ll cover various practices and methods over time. Daoism is generally well known for its simultaneous cultivation of the physical, energic, and spiritual dimensions of our being, recognizing that health in any one area can reflect in the health of the other two.
